The Sarawak Chess Association will organise a FIDE rated (also National rated) event on 25th Disember to 27th Disember 2009 at Catholic High School Stadium, Jln Lanang, Sibu Sarawak. This tournament is jointly organise with Lanang Chess Association under the auspices of Malaysian Chess Federation.

11:30 – 12:00 Briefing & Players’ Meeting

26 December 2009 (Saturday)

27 December 2009 (Sunday)

18:30 Closing Dinner

Term and Conditions

1.This championship is open to all Malaysian citizen only.However players who have represented Malaysia in the last Chess Olympiad are not permitted to take part.

2.All players shall take part in a seven round swiss individual event.

3.The Organizer WILL PROVIDE 3 NIGHTS HOTEL ACCOMMODATION and food for four State players of the following state : Sabah , Sarawak , Johor , Melaka , Negeri Sembilan , Selangor , Perak , Kedah , Perlis , Kelantan , Terengganu , Pahang and Wilayah Persekutuan.Others interested players shall take part at their own expenses.

4.State represented from the same state would not be paired against each other.

5.The state representatives’ results shall be added to contribute to the State Team standings.

6.Swiss manager program will be used for pairing.

7.IA Hamid Majid will be the Chief Arbiter for the event.

8.A players represented the state must be currently staying ,working or studing in the state and has domiciled in the state for more then six months or was born in the state.

9.Players wearing sleepers, shorts and singlet will not be permitted into tournament halls.

PRIZES CATEGORY

FOR STATE TEAM EVENT:

1.Champion RM2,000.00 + trophy
2.Runner up RM1,500.00 + trophy
3.Third RM1,000.00 + trophy
4.Fouth RM 500.00 + trophy

FOR INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION

1.RM2000 + medal
2.RM1500 + medal
3.RM1000 + medal
4.RM500 + medal
5th – 10th RM 200 each

RESULT

Individual result will be based on the following criteria :

1. Final Score
2.Solkoff
3.Sonneborn Berger
4.Cummulative

Team results will be base on the sum of the state representatives results on the following criteria:

1. Final score
2. Solkoff
3. Sonneborn Berger
4. Cummulative

RECORD OF MOVES

All moves must be recorded

TIME CONTROL

Time control is 90 minutes with 30 second increment from move one

REGISTRATION

Registration fee is RM50 per player.
